About Us

SPD often serves as the in-house development team for owners embarking on complex or atypical projects. We leverage first-hand experience and data acquired from a deep portfolio of completed work to manage risk on behalf of the owner.

Practice Leaders:

Adam Bickoff

Adam Bickoff is the Co-Managing Director of SPD’s Development Management Division.

Mr. Bickoff possesses a vast knowledge with respect to construction and development inclusive of contract negotiation, procurement, schedule, budget and trade management and cost control acquired during his 15-year career in the industry. 

Since joining SPD in 2012, he has served as Project Executive on over $2.5 billion worth of major developments, including aground up 18-story hotel, a 650,00 square-foot manufacturing and distribution facility, numerous 900,000 square-foot plus multi-story industrial and distribution warehouses, an 800,000 square-foot mixed-use district, and for the last five years, Belmont Park Redevelopment and UBS Arena, a mixed-use masterplan on behalf of the New York Islanders.

Prior to joining SPD, Mr. Bickoff spent five years as a Project Manager for AvalonBay Communities, Inc., a publicly traded REIT with over 80,000 residential apartments nationwide. He oversaw the construction of luxury high-rise and mid-rise luxury apartment buildings in New York and New Jersey.

Mr. Bickoff holds a Bachelor of Geography from Syracuse University. 

Andrew Wetzler

Andrew Wetzler is the Co-Managing Director of SPD’s Development Management Division. Mr. Wetzler benefits from a diversity of experience building commercial, institutional, residential, retail and hospitality projects throughout New York and the United States. He has provided development, design and construction-related services for over 15 million square-feet of space.

Since joining SPD, he has managed over $2 billion worth of construction work, including UBS Arena (home of the New York Islanders), Belmont Park Masterplan (including a 350,000 square-foot outdoor retail village and 200-key boutique hotel) and Industry City (6 million square-foot former warehousing campus redeveloped to serve New York’s manufacturing, innovation and artisanal economies). Additionally, he provides development and construction advisory services for numerous complex projects including several high-rise towers constructed in Manhattan. 

Prior to joining SPD, Mr. Wetzler worked for Studios Architecture and Iu+Bibliowicz Architects, most notably on the design of the $200 million renovation of Carnegie Hall and the 210,000 square-foot commercial overbuild addition to Chelsea Market.  

Mr. Wetzler received his Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University with concentrations in Architectural Theory and Architectural Visual Studies and was selected as the top two percent of his class based upon proven leadership qualities.
